Regarding AIDS Walk NY on Sunday 5/21/06 - Thank you email to Kate Catinella, Kat Burland and Collie
5/21/06 -8pm
Hi Kat and Collie: (and Kate - thanks for being the catalyst!! and great seeing you again!)
Thinking of you today! Thanks for sponsoring Kate and me. My mother, Kelly and I joined Kate, and walked about 1 mile, and left early as my mother was worn out. Kate continued on. The day was gorgeous and the turnout fantastic.

Afterwards when I returned to Westchester, I attended a Poetry Awards ceremony (the Greenburgh 35th Annual Poetry Contest) at which, coincidentally, I won a finalist award for a poem I wrote about Robert. As I read the poem to the audience of about 150 people in Greenburgh, I felt like Robert was there with me. Afterwards, a woman came up to me and said she lost her brother to AIDs about 10 years ago. Several people said they liked the poem. I was thrown off balance I did not even ask for donations to AIDS Walk NY, although awareness of AIDS was raised a bit.

Love,
Frank

On the second year anniversary in Heaven (1/19/2006), here is what will appear in the Journal News (in Westchester and Rockland counties) on Sunday 1/22/2006.
Dear Robert, This second year since you passed awayon 1/19/2004 has been painful like the first, although we are getting to be more thankful for the times that you were here with us. Everyday brings something that reminds us of you - friends or relatives talking about you, your generosity, love of life and gentle touch, a film about a topic you loved, a flower you planted, a photo or belonging of yours or something you made, a person who looks like you, a fond memory from the past. You are with us still, like our guardian angel. We know you are in heaven and in peace with the Lord, which provides us some comfort. Someday we will see you again and that is very reassuring. With all our love, Mom, Dad, brother Frank, Lorrie, Kelly, your cousins, aunts and uncles, and all the family and friends.
Recent masses said for Robert -
A mass was said in July 2005 for Robert at the Church of the Holy Family in New Rochelle, NY, and on 11/6/2005 at St. Johns Episcopal Church in New Rochelle, NY. Relatives attended.

We are meeting at 9:00am across from the sign-in booth for ROCO (booths are alphabetical. You should enter the park at 59th and 5th Avenue and you will see the booths. Go to the booth that would include ROCO and we will be gathered across from it from about 8:30am. (Some of us will have white peak hats with Robert Sisco on the hats (from last year's walk). After selecting the New York City walk, you can register to walk and/or give a contribution under a participant's name (e.g. Frank Sisco) or under our team (ROCO , #9368) or on your own. If you don't have time to do any of this (especially because it is late), please just show up at 8:30am and I will write down your name and your contribution (cash or checks made payable to AIDS Walk New York or simply "AWNY"). Any contribution is much appreciated (e.g. $25 or even $10). I will then mail in the donations as I did for many donations last year.

Note regarding interpreter for deaf (This is a copy of email from Rick Rubin)

Hi Frank. Thanks for this info. Just to let you know, if any Deaf folks in the group are going to watch the opening ceremonies, I'll be interpreting on the stage. I think I'm the only interpreter this year (we used to have an interpreter on each side of the stage). I'll try to stand on stage right (the left side from the audience perspective). Sorry I wont be walking with you, but it will be great to see you all. Enjoy! Rick Rubin

Robert's name was called at the special Memorial Service that was held on Saturday, November 6, 2004 at 12 noon at Holy Family Church, in New Rochelle, NY

There was a beatiful mass in honor of the people who died this past year who were members or relatives of members of Holy Family Church in New Rochelle, NY. About 200 people attended. At the mass, the deceased individuals' names were called, and relatives or friends who wished went to the front of the church, received a candle and had it lit by the priest, Monsignor Berardi, and placed the candle in the tray of sand along with the others. There were prayers, readings from the Bible, and music and songs, with the congregation singing. Attending for Robert were his mother (Eleanor), father (Frank Sr.), brother (Frank Jr.) and Frank's wife (Lorrie) and daughter (Kelly). At a reception following the mass, attendants shared fond memories and gave support to one another.

Here is one of the readings (from the Book of Wisdom 3: 1 - 9)

The souls of the just are in the hands of God, and no torment shall touch them. They seemed, in the view of the foolish, to be dead; and their passing away was thought an affliction, and their going forth from us, utter destruction.

But they are in peace. For if before men, indeed, they be punished, yet is their hope full of immortality; chastised a little, they shall be greatly blessed, because God tried them and found them worthy of himself. As gold in the furnace, he proved them, and as sacrificial offerings, he took them to himself.

In the time of their visitation, they shall shine, and shall dart about us as sparks through stubble; they shall judge nations and rule over peoples. And the Lord shall be their King forever.

Those who trust in him shall understand truth, and the faithful shall abide with him in love because grace and mercy are with his holy ones, and his care is with his elect. The word of the Lord.

Robert was mentioned at the wedding reception of Catherine Burland and Colleen Daviton on 9/19/2004.

Kat and Collie celebrated their recent marriage aboard the Cloud 9 Chartered Yacht in Flushing, New York, along with scores of family members and friends. The service was inspiring and loving, with several readings, written by Kat and Collie, various, loved ones, and the minister. During the readings, Kat and Collie mentioned those individuals who were very important in their lives, including Robert which was very touching. It was a beatiful sunny day and all had a wonderful time, and many of us felt Robert's spirit blowing in the wind.
